Commissioned by the City of Rotterdam, Mothership has had a lot of interactive Rotterdam Make It Happen artworks made throughout the city. The idea behind this is that Rotterdammers and tourists take pictures with the walls and share them on social media. The work by Eelco van den Berg is called the Urban Jungle. In front of the wall is a small fox, on which you can stand or sit. You also see an owl, a deer, a toucan, a sparrow and a dog. The artist wanted to bring nature back to the city.
The paintings invite you to participate in the work, which is why three steps have been added. That way you can become one of the climbing figures on the wall yourself. This painting by Daan Botlek has been applied to the corner of the building. The top male figure hangs, as it were, from the eaves.
