What a great party it was: the opening of ‘Do it’ in the Kunsthal Rotterdam. 250 kg confetti flew through the air. And that on the hottest day of the year.

The nice thing about this exhibition , in which many artist from Rotterdam took part, is that visitors can take actively part in the exhibition. Jeroen Everaert was guest curator for this special exhibition in the Kunsthal where over 50 ‘Do it’ instructions can be ‘done’. If you haven’t visited the Kunsthal yet, you certainly should. This is possible untill 30 August 2015.

The ‘Do it’ project started out in 1993 in Paris as a conversation between curator Hans Ulrich Obrist and the artists Christian Boltanski and Bertrand Lavier. They wanted to make an exhibition that would continually generate new versions of itself in a similar fashion to the conceptual, minimalist and Fluxus practices of the 1960s and 1970s. Nowadays, ‘Do it’ has been done in many ways. And can now be done in the Kunsthal.

Radio program ‘Nooit meer slapen’ did an interview with Jeroen about ‘Do it’. Listen to this interview here!
