Mothership not only floats trees…. As of the 29th of April, 8 photographs have been launched into Rotterdam’s Westersingel. The photographs may look familiar as they have already been exhibited in different public places across Rotterdam during ‘De Kracht van Rotterdam’ project, which translates to ‘The Power of Rotterdam’.
12 Photographers were given 24 hours to showcase their city. The winning results were exposed throughout Rotterdam and showed the people of Rotterdam a new side of their city. Because Rotterdam is celebrating 75 years of reconstruction (rotterdamviertdestad.nl) the winning photographs are now floating in the Westersingel and are accompanied by two stories written by local teenagers who participated in the project ‘Verhalen bij beelden’ which tries to stimulate youth in making their own stories instead of blindly following the visual culture. The photographs and the stories can be enjoyed in the water of the Westersingel until the end of July.

This project was commissioned by De Kracht van Rotterdam and produced by Mothership. For more information please check out www.dekrachtvanrotterdam.nl.
