After more than twelve and a half years of intensive collaboration, Mothership bids farewell to Vincent van Zon, who is stepping down from his role as partner and embarking on a new direction.
“The time has come to expand my work as an independent advisor in strategic urban and area development and to further build out my activities for the ArtSoleil label. I am very much looking forward to that — after all, sitting still is not in my nature.I would like to sincerely thank all of Mothership’s relations for the cooperation and the trust.
Let’s certainly stay in touch; who knows, we may meet again, perhaps even on the golf course.
I wish Mothership all the very best and gladly make room for the new generation to continue building art and experience in the public realm.”
— Vincent van Zon, partner Mothership
Since 2014, Vincent has played a defining role in Mothership’s growth. He helped build the organization into what it is today: a mature art producer and concept agency specialized in placemaking, branding, and area development, without losing its core — creating iconic interventions that give meaning to the public space.
“We are immensely grateful to Vincent for his vision, energy, and the many steps we have taken together.
Thanks to his contribution, we now stand firmly enough to move forward with confidence into the next ten years.”
— Jeroen Everaert, founder Mothership

At the same time, Mothership looks ahead. In line with the ambition to rejuvenate and future-proof the organization, Chablis Platenburg will take over Vincent’s role. Over the past year, Chablis has already worked closely with Vincent on various projects and strategic trajectories. She brings social engagement, commercial sharpness, and creative energy — exactly what suits this next phase.
Vincent will remain active as an independent advisor to organizations dealing with change and urban transition, and will also continue his social entrepreneurship. With gratitude for what has been built, and confidence in what lies ahead, we take the next step together.
On to a new chapter.
Three highlights from Vincent’s career at Mothership
In 2026, Vincent looks back on three special projects that show how broad Mothership’s spectrum is. Projects that are more than just artworks — they add social and economic value to the place or city.

The Bobbing Forest
“The Bobbing Forest proved that a simple idea — letting trees float — can capture the imagination worldwide. And that is exactly what art is meant to do.”

De Zeebank
“With De Zeebank, part of the Zeegroene Loper, we give Almere not only more color, but also more cohesion — between city and nature, between origin and future.”

Rotterdam Verlicht!
“During the dark days of the pandemic, Rotterdam Verlicht offered a glimpse of hope – for the city and its people.”
