On Friday 18 September, Rotterdam mayor Carola Schouten opened the renovated J.A. Deelderplein on Nieuwe Binnenweg.

The steel silhouette, designed and created by artist and photographer Lenny Oosterwijk and produced by Mothership, is based on his iconic portrait of Jules Deelder. Following the closure of Café Ari, the sculpture was fully restored and prepared for its move to the square.

Miniature versions of the sculpture have been created by Vincent Petit. They are available for €275, with all proceeds going to Stichting Deelder.

The miniature is 42 cm tall and stands on a 14 × 14 cm base. It can be viewed and ordered at Gallery Untitled.
