Building up monumentum

Yaayyyy Amsterdam Oersoep is definitive! Tuesday March 17th all contracts were signed and at the same time we had a toast of course.

Meanwhile things are moving fast. The terrazzo floor for the mock-up is almost ready. A mock-up shows a life size part of the passage way. Exciting indeed! In the end the floor will be filled with no less than 270 m2 terrazzo.

Commissioned by Bouwinvest, ‘Amsterdam Oersoep’ is designed by Arno Coenen, Iris Roskam and Hans van Bentum in collaboration with FiMek and Top Vastgoed. Thanks to DLVS Mothership acts as an advisor and producer. The completion of ‘Amsterdam Oersoep’ is expected for the end of 2015.

Kingsday is gonna be big this year in Dordrecht. And Mothership will be there! That the Kingsday festivities are this big has everything to do with the Royal visit of King Willem Alexander and his family.

Mothership was asked by National Park De Biesbosch to create something for the Grande Parade, in which more than 50 vessels from past and present pass through the DrieRivierenpunt. Unfortunately we can’t let you in on what’s going to happen, but you certainly have to come on April 27.

    Who’s the Biesboss?

      InspiRing van Putten

After seeing the ‘Horn of Plenty’ by Arno Coenen & Iris Roskam in the Markthal, the school De Ring van Putten from Spijkenisse was sold. The management had been looking for a nice art work for the wall in the entrance hall and were now sure that it should be a design by Arno & Iris.

Meanwhile Arno & Iris have made their final draft and are almost ready for the realization. The designs are inspired by the road you travel from first form until graduating. In addition to that, Arno & Iris were influenced by the German artist Caspar David Friedrich.

As part of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of De Ring van Putten, the artwork will be completed in August this year.

        Buongiornoooooooo Venice

The Dutch Embassy in Rome wants to create something special during the Preview days before the Venice Biennale takes place. We can proudly tell you that Mothership has been asked to make a proposal for this Preview. It’s still top secret, so unfortunately we can’t tell you more about it.

The Venice Biennale is a major contemporary international art exhibition since 1895, that takes place in Venice once every two years during the summertime from June till November.

        We’ll keep you posted!
