Bring in the video!

We proudly present you the first Mothership video about our most recent project with Rijkswaterstaat and Mwah Tekstuele Verwenners. A giant art project that was broadcast in more than 190 countries.

We enjoyed making the video together with Additors and we are very happy with the result.

Keep an eye on our Vimeo channel, our Facebook page and our website for the next video in which we’ll show you the first pictures of the Beurs passage at the Damrak in Amsterdam. The next big art project after the Markthal. Starring Arno Coenen, Iris Roskam and Hans van Bentem.

Water you thinking?

    A flag with swag

To us it’s the most beautiful city dressing of Rotterdam: the flag parade for Rotterdam Unlimited. After a succesful edition in 2014, it was placed in the city centre again this year.

The flag parade is an art project by Emma van Beek in cooperation with Natasa Heydra. What stands out are the cheerful colors of the flags. When you take a closer look, you’ll notice that the flags are actually glitched pictures of Rotterdam.

It’s a pity the organisation had to cancel the saturday of Rotterdam Unlimited due to the bad weather. That must have been a difficult decision. We feel sorry for Guus, Claudia and the Ducos team.
Hopefully in 2016 it will be a very sunny weekend!

      SOLD OUT

Arno & Iris hadn’t expected it to be such a succes. But many items of their ‘Oldskool Newskool’ collection for HEMA really have been sold out.

The collection was festively launched on Saturday 11 July, with an autograph session at HEMA Rotterdam Centrum. Many children came to see who this man and woman are that made the design for the Markthal.

Together with the Additors, Mothership has made a nice movie about the session, and it will be shown on social media and our website soon.

      We’ll keep you updated!

        Confetti rain

What a great party it was: the opening of ‘Do it’ in the Kunsthal Rotterdam. 250 kg confetti flew through the air. And that on the hottest day of the year.

The nice thing about this exhibition , in which many artist from Rotterdam took part, is that visitors can take actively part in the exhibition. Jeroen Everaert was guest curator for this special exhibition in the Kunsthal where over 50 ‘Do it’ instructions can be ‘done’. If you haven’t visited the Kunsthal yet, you certainly should. This is possible untill 30 August 2015.

The ‘Do it’ project started out in 1993 in Paris as a conversation between curator Hans Ulrich Obrist and the artists Christian Boltanski and Bertrand Lavier. They wanted to make an exhibition that would continually generate new versions of itself in a similar fashion to the conceptual, minimalist and Fluxus practices of the 1960s and 1970s. Nowadays, ‘Do it’ has been done in many ways. And can now be done in the Kunsthal.

Radio program ‘Nooit meer slapen’ did an interview with Jeroen about ‘Do it’. Listen to this interview here!
