S8 - Geert Mul

In this permanent installation of Geert Mul in the "kenniscentrum" (knowlegde centre) of the Nederlands Fotomuseum (Dutch Photomuseum), one can hear a story that belongs to a photograph.

S8 is built around an eight-sided column, with four chairs and four stands. In the chairs, one can select images via a joystick that is attached to the arm of the chair. In the first version of this installation, the images appeared on special video glasses. These have later been replaced by screens attached to a swingarm, so that the screens can be placed in front of the visitor's face. When standing, one can navigate through images via a touch screen.

At all locations, the audio is presented via headphones.

New images and stories are continuously added, often related to the current exhibitions.

Geert Mul has also designed the installations W4 and P15 for the "kenniscentrum".
