Game Meadow - Arno Coenen
For the City of Utrecht, Arno Coenen was asked to design a third mosaic in the public space.
Game meadow: stage 2 is part of a new design for the Pelt public garden, in the Kanaleneiland area.
This mosaic makes a connection between the Virtual Fairytale 2.0 mosaic and the renovated public garden. Because of the mosaic, the surroundings and the garden now
merge seamlessly.
The mosaic consists of elements of contemporary visual culture and also relates to its direct environment.
The pixels are made of square concrete tiles in 19 different colours.
Initially, the concrete stand was an obstacle. By applying the design also to the stand, it became part of the square.
