On Saturday March 7th  the Rotterdam Museumnight took place. During this night circa 40 museums and cultural insitutions in Rotterdam are open to the public from 20.00 to 02.00 o'clock. The theme was RE:, with which the organization wanted to provoke a reaction from the public.

Specially for this Museumnight Rnul Interactive created an opening act that is a musical work of art, in which the spectators are the central figures. With the aid of 4 big spotlights, the audience could light up different elements on and around the historical Schielandhuis (housing the Historical Museum of Rotterdam). Using the spotlights, the spectators could look for the different sounds of the city.

The spectators could hear directly what goes on behind the walls of the surrounding buildings by aiming the spotlight on them and thus create a rhythmic composition. Typical sounds of Rotterdam make up the heart of this composition. Create a beat with a pile-driver, while someone else plays a melody of a crying baby. A third person will add a groove with the coo of a pigeon, whilst a fourth person discovers the sound of a truck engine and thus creating a heavy bass tone.

The 8th edition of the Rotterdam Museumnight -and with it the artwork of Rnul- was opened by mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb.
