Wereld van de Witte de With 2008
On Friday the 12th, Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of September 2008, Mothership presented a special selection of art in the public space during Festival "Wereld van de Witte de With": as green as it gets.
- Watch out for the 8 meter tall marsh monster "Swamp Thing" by Hans van Bentem. Or is it a vegetarian? In that case you're lucky!
- Looking for a nice spot in the sun? (if the sun will eventually shine...) The portable "Pocket Garden" by Gigja Reynisdottir and Dienke Groenhout will be your thing!
- Hand gestures are a kind of universal language which were tested this weekend. The mechanical "HAND" by Freerk Wieringa, of 3 meters tall, taunted you with special composed movements to express your opinion about the work of art, the festival and of course about this years theme: Green.
- The giant "Pilot Projects #2" by Onno Poiesz provoked you to reflect upon durability, religion, ourselves, present and past.
- "STOP! Hummer Time!" One of the biggest symbols of polution, the Hummer (a design by Snodevormgevers) got a custom paint job by the Lastplak collective.
- "Carpark" by Jan-Geert Munneke is a mobile park which cheers up the neighbourhood and gives inhabitants a nice place to be outside!
