24 uur cultuur
Mothership
Mothership created a connecting route in between cultural institutions in Rotterdam (NL) during 24 Hours of Culture. Striking bikes with huge bouquets of flowers were placed along the route in order to offer art and culture lovers a warm welcome. These bouquets were inspired by the graffiti art "Flower Thrower" by British artist 'Banksy'.
Banksy treats international audiences frequently with surprising works of art in the public space and thus the festival audience wanted something fun to give back. Posing as a "Flower Thrower", people could be photographed, each picture was posted on the internet in the hope that Banksy would see it.
Mothership has developed this concept together with CCCP and Rotterdam ByCycle, as well as produced it. 24 Hours Culture took place on 10 and 11 September and marked the opening of the cultural season in 2011 in Rotterdam.
