Tropical Surprise
Arno Coenen
Mothership felt that an artwork by Arno Coenen would really fit into a colourful, multi-ethnic neighbourhood like Crooswijk, in Rotterdam. For the pedestrian tunnel in Frederikstraat the artist designed two tile mosaics with symbols and texts inspired by graphics from a 1980s pinball machine.
Commissioned by the Havensteder housing association, Mothership acted as curator and producer for this project.
