Melle (1975) lives and works in Rotterdam. He works as a conceptual artist, curator and critic in the public space. He studied at the ArtEz Hogeschool Arnhem, specialized in OK5/art and public space. His work focuses on creating new meeting places in public space. In addition, he takes existing social structures and local customs. Through his eyes these relationships with the environment form the foundation for identity, ownership and sense of community, and are the basis for a well-functioning society. With this, he presents an alternative view of the environment and transforms ideas into action. Herewith Smets aims starting a process of change and tries to involve people in shaping their/our world.
