Mark Formanek (1967) was born in Pinneberg, Germany and lives and works in Berlin. He studied at the Art Academy of Münster and the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London.
Formanek is a well-known conceptual artist. His most celebrated work is his video installation called Standard Time where 70 workers have 24 hours to build a digital clock made of wood. They have only one minute to update the time. In total, the time is adjusted 1611 times in one day.
