Luuk Bode lives and works in Rotterdam and makes paintings, murals, drawings, and sculptures. His work has been influenced by elements in contemporary urban landscape: angular skylines, shifting perspectives, reflections, road markings and graffiti. Nevertheless, great modern painters of the 20th century are also playing a significant role in his art. Besides that, he uses elements from Japanese manga comics and the Aztec mythology too. Although his paintings are brought up on canvas with brush and paint, they appear as computer prints due to the greatly reduced lines and flat areas of color. Because of that his work does not leave any room for doubt and shows a world of strength and vitality.
